Project title: “Strengthening the protected area system in Angola through innovation and capacity development”. This project targets the Global Biodiversity Framework Fund (GBFF) under the GEF’s new biodiversity financing mechanism. As part of the Project Preparation Grant (PPG), a multi-disciplinary team of experts was deployed to Angola, conducting a field mission to Quiçama National Park to gather baseline data at the community level and engage stakeholders, including women and local resource users. The project aims to enhance the effectiveness of Angola’s protected area system through improved financial leverage, technical innovation and participatory management models.
