RFP UNDP-GNB-00157 “International Consultant Firm: GEF Coastal Erosion Project”, Duty Station: Bissau, Guinea-Bissau” (the “Project”), with the aim of “develop[ing] a Project Identification Form (PIF) in English and Portuguese, in support of the Government of Guinea-Bissau, under the guidance and supervision by UNDP, in accordance with the relevant GEF and UNDP requirements and strategies.”
Preparation and successful submission to the Global Environment Facility (GEF) of a new $20M adaptation PIF for Guinea-Bissau, accomplished on 05-Mar-2025. Project title: “Resilient Futures: Safeguarding Guinea-Bissau’s Coastlines and Urban Areas from Climate Risks”. The project was developed by a multi-disciplinary team of national and international consultants, and included a 10-day mission to Guinea-Bissau for collecting primary data in some of the project’s sites (among them, Bissau, Bolama and Varela) and consulting key stakeholders, including women and vulnerable community members, health workers and local authorities. It also included the organization of a PIF Validation Workshop, attended by 61 people (44% women), among them representatives from institutions, CSOs and local government and community members from project sites. A Pre-SESP for assessing the project’s social and environmental risks was also prepared.
